Ethereum [ETH] based ConsenSys announces Grant Program for the ecosystem

Amanda Gutterman, the Chief Marketing Officer of the blockchain company, ConsenSys recently posted on Twitter that the firm announced a Grant Program at Devcon4. The announcement made by Joseph Lubin included that the projects developing within the Ethereum ecosystem will be rewarded with $500,000 if they focus on certain aspects of the industry, such as infrastructure, usability, interoperability, research and more. Gutterman’s Tweet read:

“The @ConsenSys Grant Program was announced this morning at #Devcon4 by @ethereumJoseph! We will award $500,000 to projects in the #Ethereum space who are focusing on infrastructure, research, interoperability, usability, and developer tools.”

In a conference earlier this year, Lubin, who is the Co-founder of Ethereum and the CEO of ConsenSys stated that his company originated on the idea that products should be built at the application layer. Furthermore, with regards to the location of the company, he mentioned that situating the business in the USA was a decision surrounded with much nervousness and led to the establishment of ConsenSys in Switzerland.

Metamask is a developer tool by ConsensSys that allows users to run Ethereum-based dApps on browsers instead of running full Ethereum nodes. Regarding this, Lubin had also stated that lack of infrastructure was the inspiration for the company to build their own developer tools. The ConsensSys Academy was mentioned to be another example of such a creation.

About two months ago, LinkedIn, one of the leading business and employment-oriented services listed ConsenSys under the top 50 US Startups along with several other crypto-firms, such as Coinbase, Ripple, Robinhood and Gemini. ConsensSys grabbed the 26th spot whereas Coinbase stood on the third and Ripple on the seventh position on the list.

A Twitter use and a blockchain space enthusiast, Leah Jones on Gutterman’s Tweet wrote:

“That’s all well and good but should we be focused on main stream adoption”

Brad Mills, another cryptocurrency and blockchain follower commented:

“This is meant to attract world-class cryptographers?
Might work”
